Back in Pink

One semester has ended today and another one begins in a week.

Something that never fails to surprise me is that there are so many students who just do not care. They do the minimal work possible to pass and then either complain about their grade or are satisfied with just passing.
My question is- why go to college if you do not make the most of it?
College tuition at public Texas universities start at around $5,200 per semester. That is $40,000 for four years (that is IF tuition doesn't go up- which is doubtful, but this gives us a number to begin with).
Community College tuition is about $500 per semester, $2,000 for two years.
Do The Math-
10,400 per year x 2 = 20,800
20,800- 2,000= 18,800
So, of course it is cheaper to start out at a Community College. But, if you do not make the most of your $2,000, it doesn't matter.
Students who do well at the Junior College level get scholarships for four-year colleges.
Duh.
If students are such idiots and waste my tax dollars and time, they might as well move to Washington.
