It is no secret to me that my poor eating habits , stress and lack of a regular workout routine have contributed to the growing flab on my hips and waist over the past couple of years. I can blame genetics, hectic schedule and even birth control pills as causes but in all reality I was comfortable with myself and had a cute boyfriend so I was fine... For the moment... And then my boyfriend became my fiancee and one trip to the bridal shop opened my eyes to the chubbiness that now described my arms and face. I need to lose weight and lose it fast.
My holiday trip home brought me in contact with several 30-- year old female friends facing then same dilemma. Sherry recommended Jillian Michaels 30 day shred (purchased at Target for $9.98) . Kim said to do yoga and zumba (starting Monday) and both my aunt Billie and my friend Beth said 'Atkins'.
I must ad,it that I have a major sweet tooth. I eat dessert after every meal, I love sweet breakfast foods and do not drink coffee without sweetened flavored creamer.
Atkins did not seem easy, but I am desperate (juice fasts and cleanses have all left me irritable and hungry). I started the low carb lifestyle on Dec. 27. I am keeping under 20 carbs a day, drinking a ton of water and am doing pretty well.
Here are a few observation s:
-I feel less bloated. I would Like to thiNk I am already losing weight but I know its just water. *sad face
- I pee all the time. This is a combination of drinking a ton of water and also diet coke, which satisfies my sweet tooth.. Generally.
-the Carb counter app on Google play is very helpful.
-Alot of people have done thus diet and love it. I was encouraged at a party last night by a girl who lost 65 pounds in six months. (Go Julia!!)
the Atkins.com website is very helpful and informative.. Much better than the book which was not as easy to follow.
I will keep this journal of my progress.. Let's see how it goes!!
